2/6/2015 Gary is our Chief Human Resource Officer and has been with LHHS for 12 years.
Fond du Lac is where Gary calls home, along with his wife Jackie. They have two daughters Addison and Mallory and Bailee a family dog.
Gary says "I enjoy staying busy. I have an active lifestyle of participating in sports and hunting. I am a successful and nationally recognized softball umpire. My favorite thing outside of work is my family. The best job is being the husband to my wife and father to my two daughters."
Gary was attracted to the organization's strong history and mission to support senior services in the FDL community. His previous role was outside of Fond du Lac and he was searching for an organization committed to helping the community where he lived. "I wanted to join an organization that provided a service vs a product - something that had meaning." Gary says. He is provided an opportunity to grow as an HR professional and tackle diverse challenges across all aspects of HR in his role at LHHS.
The HR role is defined by Gary like this, "Through my skills, I help to attract, motivate and retain resources that contribute to the mission and vision of the organization. My goal is to provide services which promote the principles of teamwork, open communication, personal accountability, fair treatment, and mutual respect. These services provided are supported through continuous visibility, responsiveness and a focus on quality services." Gary's hope and goal is to not only meet the needs of the organization, but the needs of the individual assigned the role. Gary says, "I take pride in seeing people enjoy their jobs and being successful. Our team is the ultimate factor contributing to the organization's success." Our team is his favorite thing about LHHS. We have a diverse work group. We have different generations, styles, backgrounds, ethnicity that contribute to our residents care. He says, "Our team is a true collaboration of unique skills and effort that help individuals live long and live well."
In closing Gary states his favorite interaction with the people in our care is: "I enjoy seeing our residents satisfied. Watching our residents smile as they interact with our team is very rewarding."
