Capital Campaign - Living for the FutureSee our Capital Campaign Brochure for more detailed information... It's not enough or acceptable to merely sustain life. A life should be filled to the brim, and overflowing, with health, community, compassion and inspiration from birth to death. Sadly, for some, aging represents a diminishing life. Loneliness, depression and disease are often seen by our society as being a part of the "acceptable" aging process. But, not at Lutheran Homes & Health Services (LHHS)… "Living long. Living well." is our tagline for a reason. Our philosophy is that people, no matter their faith, background, or income, are worthy of living their lives to the fullest. Our staff and facilities support this philosophy by fostering a compassionate community encouraging healthy habits, and active participation. This philosophy is further supported by our continued commitment to our residents by never asking someone to leave when they have outlived their financial resources. Here at LHHS our past traditions influence us; we hold our values and mission close in all we do. Our present causes us to constantly evaluate and respond to ever changing needs; knowing that our presence is vital within this community and to those we serve. This approach has served LHHS well, and has been our foundation for more than 2,500 patients and residents. However, our future lies ahead, and change is eminent. We see that the senior population is growing, as baby boomers enter their "golden years". We also see that the economic climate, and governmental budget cuts have placed heavy burdens on local communities to support their aging adults. We have recognized that the needs of Fond du Lac County's Senior Citizens have changed greatly. So must we… Through a very thorough and strategic planning process, we have taken a very critical look at our organization, facilities and program needs. We have realized that the traditional sources of state and federal reimbursements, and limited financial resources, are not sufficient to make the necessary improvements, nor support future programs, necessary for our seniors to live long and live well. Therefore, we are reaching out to you, and the Fond du Lac community, for assistance by requesting your participation in our Living for the Future Capital Campaign. Your generous support and involvement will allow us to make necessary improvements, and will support the growth of the many programs that have made us the valuable community asset that we are today! |
