We are currently looking for a Beauty Shop Assistant.
Wednesday or Thursday mornings from 8:30 - 11:30 a.m. Volunteer would be responsible for assisting residents to and from their appointments at the beauty shop within our facility. Call Becky Frize if interested, 921-9520 ext. 168.
An opportunity for the volunteer who wants one-on-one and group interaction. Be an extra set of hands during a group Bingo game, play board games with residents, decorate for special occasions, or teach a craft or hobby. (All locations)
Assistance with religious services by serving as a song leader, accompanist or transporting residents to the chapel.
Share one-on-one time with residents by engaging them in conversation, reading books or newspapers or writing letters.
Introduce LHHS employees to key leaders and volunteers of your congregation, connecting members to LHHS programs.
Health & Wellness Volunteer
Provide assistance to the Wellness Coordinator by assisting with fitness classes, creating and updating Wellness materials and expanding the Wellness program.
Share your love of staying active and fit with our residents. From arm chair aerobics to Wii Games to Yoga, volunteers are needed to lead health and wellness activities.
Groups & Families
With adequate planning and supervision, many of our communities welcome the opportunity to host group or family service projects for multi-generational teams of volunteers.
Assist patients with writing their life story – a wonderful gift for family and friends. Tools (provided) used to record the story are tailored to the patient and may include scrapbooks, audio tapes, written word, video or a combination.
When residents move from their home to LHHS or from within an LHHS community to another location, there are many adjustments to be made. Volunteers are always needed to assist residents with measuring furniture and taking photos.
Assist with mailings, assemble packets, provide data entry support, scan or file documents, provide relief at the reception desk and conduct reminder calls.
Love a good book? Like to start your day with a quick read of the newspaper? You have a lot in common with our residents! Share this love by spending time one-on-one, or with small groups, reading books aloud or sharing highlights from the day.
Assist residents needing help getting to and from Chapel, the beauty shop or group activities. Duties include pushing a wheelchair or providing a steady arm.
Team up with our employees to provide special care and attention to residents who are open to companions and visitors. A regular visit for conversation or a stroll around the community can do wonders!
Provide relief to Hospice families when you provide companionship to a patient while the family caregiver runs errands, attends religious services, or re-connects with their support system.
Our communities have been blessed by the generosity of our churches and the community at large. In return, we welcome scouts, confirmation classes and high school or college student groups who wish to create a service project.
Assist with residents' social events or lend a hand with an LHHS fund-raising event.
Youth volunteers are welcome in all of our communities. Roles and responsibilities are matched with youth depending on their skills, interests and maturity level. Parents are always encouraged to accompany youth volunteers under the age of 18.
