Active Aging Week Open House
Lutheran Homes & Health Services, a not-for-profit serving seniors of all faiths and financial means, is joining the International Council on Active Aging to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle during ICAA's Active Aging Week, Sept. 21-27, 2014.
This year's theme, "Let the Adventure Begin," complements LHHS' philosophy, living long and living well, which helps residents achieve their personal goals, whether they are social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical or vocational. "We are committed to whole person wellness," says Mari Beth Borek, chief executive officer.
On September 22nd, LHHS will join with an estimated 100,000 seniors across the country expected to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, good nutrition and preventive care. According to Mary Jo Neumann, Wellness Coordinator at the Wellness Center, “This event is a wonderful opportunity for seniors to make, renew, and revitalize their commitment to live healthier lives through better health and fitness.”
An open house will be offered from 9-11 a.m. and from 4-6 p.m. Join us for refreshments, drawings, and a complimentary fitness class designed for those fifty-five and better at 9 a.m. All new members will have their joining fee waived.
