Palliative Care

Palliative Care Program

Palliative Care is provided at Lutheran Homes & Health Services by an interdisciplinary team including the professions of medicine, nursing, social work, chaplaincy, counseling, nursing assistants and other health care professionals. The focus of the team is to provide relief from suffering and to support the best possible quality of life for residents who are facing life-threating or chronic illnesses.

The team provides support to both the resident and the family and their loved ones. The team indentifies and addresses the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of all involved.

Individualized care is provided for the resident and the family in a calming, quiet environment where the resident is comfortable and family members are welcome to stay 24 hours a day if that is their wish.
